Is it possible for an American to work in Israel

Is it possible for an American to work in Israel?
Hi, I have a b.s in marketing from univ. of hawaii and a mba from Texas a&m in the usa. I want to live in israel because I have fallen in love with everything about the country. Is it possible for me to get a job here? Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking? I love the beach and resort areas as well. Thanks for your help. Jeremy

We will be very happy if you come to live in Israel, but you must understand that we have been managing without you so far. You would therefore have to be prepared, at least at first, to take any work that's going.

Do you speak Hebrew? That would help a great deal. You will probably be able to get a job in Tel Aviv. You might find work in a hotel in Eilat. Israel is credentialism crazy, so you have a shot with your degrees. Have you visited Israel before? I recommend it. Many Americans who make aliyah who have never been to Israel end up on the first plane back after they see how Israelis behave. It's a rough place even in peaceful times. Get your mind right and expect the unexpected. Also, don't get trapped by an Israeli girl who would like a green card. If you go on a tourist visa, no one will hire you in your field.

Yes, its possible for Americans to work in Israel. There are many American people working there. You will need to get a work permit. There are many jobs in your area, but remember the competition will be great as there are many Israelis with an MBA.Plus the language might be a problem, even though most Israelis speak/understand basic English. you should contact contact the Israeli consulater in your area and get better advise from them.
