Go to the Israeli consulate. They'll tell you exactly what to do. It's definitely possible. Oh... and have a good time in Israel, it's amazing over there.

Perhaps a waiter? In touristy areas a native english speaker may be in demand.

you need to be paid under the table if you don't want a visa. i cleaned and babysat.

Hmmm. I don't know. Depends on your type of occupation. Manual labor is maxed out by Arabs, Africans, and other uneducated people, so its all down to your educational level. Have fun trying it out.

You can live and work in Israel whatever your religion. 30% of Israeli citizens are not Jewish - it is a secular democracy. Get in touch with the Israeli embassy in whichever country you live in, and they will advise you. Best of luck with it; I've lived in Israel and it is amazing there!

Apply in a company in Israel since aliens are welcomed thereat. When accepted, request the company to send the contract of employment and use this to apply for a working visa at the Israeli Embassy.

Is there a program that would allow me to work with orphans in Israel

Is there a program that would allow me to work with orphans in Israel?
I am thinking about spending a year in Israel and really want to do community service. However, I really do need some form of income so I can survive. My first choice would be some sort of orphanage. I can't really afford to pay thousands of dollars to be a part of some special organization. Is there anykind of program that wouldn't charge me but set me up with a job and connect me with an orphanage I can help out at?

I'm sure that there is something you can do. Unfortunately, I know of nothing personally; however, I would contact an Israeli diplomatic mission and see if they know of anything. Another idea is the Kibbutz system. It might be anachronistic, but at one point they were the orphanages of Israel. I don't think they serve that purpose anymore; however, who knows, one might still act as one.

Can anyone explain to me how Israel cell phone plans work?
Does anyone know the rates for Cellcom and Orange in Israel and to America and for texting? Also, do their cell phones plans work the same way as in America with prepaying for a set amount of minutes?
