Can a non-Jew immigrate to Israel

Can a non-Jew immigrate to Israel?
Can a non-Jew immigrate to live and work in Israel? Are you requiered to be a Jew to get Israeli citizenship. If the answer to ethier of these is yes, isn't that discrimatory and somewhat reminisant of the South African regime?

Two questions is one answer. a.Can you catch bullets with your teeth? b.Do you know how to belly dance, so you can dodge Arab missiles? If you've answered "yes" in both of these two Qs then you are welcome dude! ...................Warning. This is a joke!.......................................

yes, jews get the right to move to israel and become a citizen. non-jews don't have an automatic right, so it depends on the person and situation. no it is NOT reminiscent of south africa. in SA, there were 2 sets of laws based on race. israel has a constitution like the US that forbids that kind of discrimination. ALL CITIZENS have full civil rights, regardless of religion. (i'm not talking about the west bank or gaza, those are not part of israel, they have their own governments and their own laws, with far fewer civil rights.) the right of return IS reminiscent of dozens of countries. if your grandfather was german, you can move to germany. same for france. same for dozens of countries. here's a wikipedia article summarizing the dozens of examples: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_of_return

Yes, anyone can immigrate to Israel. You do not have to be Jewish... that is a common misconception. While many people to attempt to compare Israel to apartheid South Africa in hopes of gaining support against Israel, that claim is false. http://tinyurl.com/2z6x2f

I will answer your question with one of my own. Non-Muslims cannot immigrate to live and work in Saudi Arabia or Iran or Syria or Gaza. You are required to be a Muslim to get Saudi citizenship. Isn't that discriminatory and somewhat reminiscent of the South African regime?

It is easier to become Israeli if you are Jewish, but it is certainly possible to become Israeli if you're not.

A non-Jew can move to Israel if you apply w/the correct offices (same with Jews seeking citizenship.) A non-Jew can also be a citizen of Israel.

you don't have to be be jewish at all. Israel is a modern and democratic country where everyone can apply for citizenship. the only exception is that because Israel is the Jewish homeland, jews (if they can prove they're jewish) could move to israel tomorrow. the reason for this is because God promised the Jews Israel, and every year we say 'next year in jerusalem' and we have always prayed since our expulsion to return, so they wanted to make it as easy as possible for jews to live there. that doesn't mean to say that anyone else can't live there, it's just slightly harder
