N.A. Nintendo Wii and disks in Israel?
My little nephew in Israel wants a Wii, but I am not sure if the one I buy here in the U.S. will work there (NTSC???). And if the console does, will the game disks available in Israel work in it? Does anybody know any technical details on this? Thanks!!!

Why does Israel want to establish new Jewish settlements in Palestine
Why does Israel want to establish new Jewish settlements in Palestine?
Israel needs to work with U.S. to reach peace; however, their decision concerning the Jewish establishments makes it seem like they do not want peace at all, so sabotaging peace negotiations. If Israel indeed wants peace with Palestinians, why did they do this in the most crucial period of the talks? I do not know what you mean by saying all the lands there belong to Israel, but according to UN resolutions, they are Palestinian lands that Israel illegally occupies. There were many calls from UN to Israel to withdraw, but leave the withdrawal aside, they apparently chose to build new settlement which makes the peace talks to come to a halt.

Israel wants peace only on their terms. Negotiation is an illusion. In the mean time it's only natural the more powerful nation expands. Who's to stop them?

first of all, there is no country called paelstine. there is a country called israel which was reestablished on a region which the romans called palestine when they took it from the jews. second, what you call "new settlements" are really more like the expanding of extant cities. would you tell the city of philadelphia that it can't put up a new apartment complex on the outskirts? Would you tell any other country that it can't continue to provide housing for its citizens? I think not.

First of all most of these Jew folks dont know how to read or write. Second, just like that famous Brit said, Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (he used to be a mountain climber), when he was asked why he climbed all the way to the top of the Himalayas (or was it mt. Everest?) ; "for two reasons: because it was there and because it was free" Steel Sherpa

Since there is no one to stop them why shouldn't they? Any country in the world would do exactly the same thing if given the opportunity. Trading land for peace is only a viable alternative when dealing with sovereign nations who can really back up their agreements and not with the Palestinians who are ruled by the mob.

Israel doesn't want to establish settlements in Palestine. Israel wants to establish communities in its biblical heartland, the areas most frequently and importantly mentioned in the Jewish Bible (Torah), with the most historical and cultural association to the Jewish people throughout time. Unfortunately, several actors have turned the Palestinians into pawns for their purposes (you may be surprised by some of them): 1. The Arab world. Has always disliked a Jewish presence in the Middle East, seeing it as a threat to their total domination of the area and conquering of the region for Islam. If you study even the most basic tenets of Islam, you will learn that a source of great pride for Islam is to conquer new lands on its behalf, and certainly to maintain sovereignty where it can. Anything else is a shame and threat to the Umma. 2. America. This one is probably the biggest surprise. But the United States is the 2nd largest global purveyor of military products in the world - after Russia. The United States is producing less and less in-country, and relying much more on imports as the culture has increasingly catered to consumers. So America's military industry is one of (if not) the biggest contributors to the American economy. AMERICA HAS AN INTEREST IN MAINTAINING LOW-LEVEL WARFARE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. Playing both sides off of each other constantly, America can continue to sell weapons to all parties, bolstering the American economy. Sick, I know. 3. Europe. Europe has a historic and now a modern heritage. Of old, Europe (including Britian) was a generally anti-Semitic place (exhibit A: World War II), and that general outlook has not changed. Political correctness has forced a reframing of the issue - it is not at all OK to be anti-Jewish. However, it IS ok to be anti-Israel! So it's a convenient outlet. In recent years, however, there has been a drastic increase in the influx of Muslim residents and new citizens into most European countries (especially England and France). They have further pressed politics against Israel. In the meantime, Israel is the size of New Jersey. The rest of the Arab world takes up 1/10th of the world's land mass. You tell me who is being overly greedy on the issue of land. If the Arab world would only absorb the Palestinians, everyone would move on. However, they refuse to do so, creating a situation in which the only solution is a showdown.

Because if they withdraw from the west bank, they'd be admitting that their occupation was illegal. If you look back a few decades earlier, you'll see that they settled what is now Israel illegally as well. If they give up their claim to the west bank, they have to give up their claim to Israel itself. For some reason they think they need to have a Jewish state. These European Jews don't play nice with others, i guess.

Actually, a more prudent question would be is why are the Palestinians making pre-conditions for negotiations by focusing on the expansion of already existing settlements or building a new neighbourhood in a Jerusalem suburb when it does not displace a single Arab resident? After all, one of the purposes of negotiations is to resolve such issues, including what to do with the settlements.

I would not bother to answer the stupidities you put in your question; after all, if a man knows nothing about the conflict, which is your case, but tries to make judgements, all the reasons and arguments would we a waste of time because this man has already formed his opinion. What interested me was your phrase in the Additional Details that "according to UN resolutions, they are Palestinian lands that Israel illegally occupies". There is a saying: to talk is easier than to work. Try to work, for a change, and find me a couple of the UN Security Council resolutions which would say exactly this, i.e. that Israel is "illegally occupying palestinian lands". Maybe this will make you start thinking instead of repeating like a parrot something you heard from your teacher or read in some local newspaper in an article written by someone who knows about the situation only a bit more than you. And if it does not make you start thinking...Well, after all there are millions of ignorants in this world. One more changes nothing.

The intent of the Zionist leaders in Europe, & beyond, was never to truly allow non-Jewish Arabs to remain in their land of origin. Do research into Zionism. You will find, even in the sites that promote the theme of Zionism, extreme racism against the Arabs who lived in and around the "Holy Land". http://www.marxists.de/middleast/schoenman/ch02.htm This is only one of countless sources of historical information having to do with Israel. If you read the pro-Jewish-Israel sites only, you get an incomplete & warped view of what has really been going on in the Middle East over the last two centuries. Innumerable innocent Jews have been CONNED in Europe & the rest of the world, into believing in this Nationalistic fervor; that Jews (a separate/exclusionary group from the rest of the human race) need & deserve a home of their own; a home where only JEWS live & control what is there. Zionist leaders want to eventually CONTROL every part of the Middle East!!!! They even plan on once again gaining CONTROL over Iran, Venezuela, & every possible oil reserve that exists anywhere on the planet!!! Jews are one of the strongest TOOLS for the Elitist Bankers, Royalty, the Fortune 500, etc., to use in upholding their MILITARY OWNERSHIP OF THE PLANT EARTH!!!!!! If you are not a SUPER WEALTHY JEW, then Zionist leaders have absolutely no concern or interest in your health, happiness, or even your LIFE!!!!!!! Does anybody with a mind really think that these Elite INCARNATIONS OF SATAN, care for one second about working class Arabs? Working class Jews are also irrelevant to those scumbags at the top of the world of "MONEY"!!!

Hmm... No, I don't think so. It's fine if you did not go to school in Israel, but it is necessary to speak Hebrew. It's kind of like, in Israel, there are lots of people who speak English, just like in the US there are lots of people who speak Spanish, but if you wanted to work in the US, you would have to learn English, right? Anyway, Israel has several intensive Hebrew language programs for new immigrants so they can settle into Israeli society. And contrary to popular belief, Hebrew is not a very difficult language to learn.
2 :
Once you migrate to Israel, you will have to first learn Hebrew, which all new immigrants do. There are programs designed just for you. Once you have learned Hebrew, you would have to get a licence in order to become a doctor. Exams will be necessary of course. Sincerely, Ms. Miche ; })

The below link gives more details. A medical professional who meets the requirements may certainly practice here, but s/he must be issued a Department of Medical Professions/ Ministry of Health license. Obviously, this applies to someone who graduated from a recognized 6 year medical program as well as 1 year of rotating internship ("stag"); the internship requirement may also be fulfilled in Israel. (For a practicing intern from abroad in a "straight" internship, the rotating internship requirement in Israel may be waived.) One applies for a license at the local district Health Office. http://www.hagshama.org.il/en/resources/view.asp?id=389
