Traditionally on all Yom Tov and holidays.But some wouldnt only on Shabbat and Yom Kippur.But some do work.Like me.I fast and follow all rules i just work.But since this year Yom Kippur is on Shabbat i will follow the work rules since i am Somer Shabbat.

The Torah requires Jews to abstain from (39 categories of labor) on the Sabbath; this is from before sundown on Friday evening until after sunset (when 3 stars come out) on Saturday night. The same applies to Yom Kippur. On Rosh HaShana, Shavuot, (and the first and last day of ) Passover, and Sukkot all of the same laws apply, except that specific means of cooking and food preparation are allowed for the enjoyment of the holidays

Look in the 23rd chapter of Vayikra (Leviticus). The 15th and the 21st days of Abib (the first month) are HIGH SABBATHS. No work is done. The Feast of Shavuot (pentecost to the churchmen) is a HIGH SABBATH...no work on this day. In the 7th month (which should begin on Sept 13) Yom Teruah (trumpets...wrongly called Rosh Hashanna by the Rabbinicals) HIGH SABBATH...no work. Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) 10th day of the 7th month. HIGH SABBATH...no work and a day of TOTAL FASTING. 15th and 22nd day of 7th month are the beginning and ending of the Feast of Tabernacles. Both days are HIGH SABBATHS...no work. There are 7 days of no work in addition to the weekly Sabbaths which, by the way, Jesus observed. Come to think of it, so did Paul and the other disciples. So why don't christians observe what the FIRST followers of Jesus did? Could it be that satan has sown some lies in the wheat field? Hmmm? Jesus was also in attendance of Chanukah!...see John 10.22. Look up the word "dedication" in your concordance/Hebrew lexicon. There's no biblical command for this festival, but it's something our Master did, so we can do it too.

The Jews in Israel are not firbidden to work at anyday by state laws. the relegious jews do not work on shabat and holidays (some charedim dont work at all but that is another story) but israel's law does not forbid working on any day
