I was watching C-Span this morning (7am pacific time), with a former CIA agent as the guest. He said that the US is fighting the wars of Israel such as in Iraq, Iran and Yemen to name a few. He said that Israel has the biggest lobby in DC, the 2nd largest being Saudi Arabia. He said the US gets no benefit from helping Israel and a caller said instead is making enemies, self-inflicting itself by having the same enemies Israel has just so it does the dirty work for Israel. The agent's name was Michael something. So why does the US shoot itself in the foot, bringing to our soil the suicide bombers that are Israel's enemies and who in the past have fought on Israeli soil against Israelis by choosing to fight those enemies on behalf of Israel and causing more harm to itself than good? The analagy is if someone has a cockroach problem, they ask their friend in another townn to kill the cockroaches by bringing all of them to their house. Now both have the same problem and it keeps on growing. Why can't the US tell Israel to deal with their own problems and provide help if they need it without plaster our face as the #1 target and leaving Israel in the background so they are safe and sound and being a volunteer martyr on their behalf like whipped dummies controlled by them? Don't get me wrong. I love Israel and Jews. It just makes no logical sense to fight someone else's war when a) there is no way whatsoever that the west could ever ever win an enemy such as the entire Muslim world who fight with terrorism so why create an enemy out of them just because they are Israel's enemy??????? Do you think George Washington or Abe Lincoln would think that was a good idea?????? b) just because they have money to pay off politicians to do what is for THEIR interest not the US's (the definition of a lobbyist is someone who pays to get special interest in return) why should I roll over and be quiet and say it is ok when I can clearly see it is not and have the right to voice that opinion. The West has never had great contempt for Islam, not until Israel was created that is. The West has never waged war against them and have lived in peace since the beginning of time with Islam nations. Now that Israel took their land to make it their country and represses the Palestinians, THEY created enemies of Islam nations and now they want the US to fight their wars. First Iraq was a threat to them because they were funding their suicide bombers, so the US goes in and wipes out the entire friggin government and replaces it with a pro-Israel one. Now Iran is threatening to create a nuclear weapon that could reach Israel so the US across the globe is/has created an enemy out of it. Oh and it is also at taxpayers and our entire economy's expense as we can witness for the past 10 years what our economy has turned into thanks to the pricey war the US has waged on behalf of Israel. Seriously, this has got to stop before it gets worse.

AMEN sister. This may be radical to some people but I honestly believe that if we had not been friends to Israel and never given them any money, that 9/11 would have never happened. Meaning that we wouldn't be in Iraq or Afghanistan.

So you think we should throw one of our greatest allies under the bus because other countries might hate us for it? Doesn't matter, people hate us as a way of life, not necessarily because Israel is a friend of ours. I'm not sure what the Iraq war has to do with Israel. That supposedly was not one of the reasons why we invaded them this time.

Because many Americans have a great deal of contempt for Islam...with good reason...and supporting Israel, the only free nation in a region surrounded by Islamic dictatorships, is an excellent way of making this point.

I agree. Israel does have one of the biggest lobbies in DC. Israel is the most powerful country in the Middle East with the economy, military, and nuclear weapons to boast it they don't even need our help. I don't see Israel lifting a finger helping us on anything.

I couldn't agree with you more. I am so tired of hearing about how we are fighting for Israel, and that they are our closest ally. We need to be focusing on the United States and that's it. We need to quit policing the world.

These opinions might be the reason why this "Michael something" is a *former* CIA agent. Israel and the US are on the same side, but fighting Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen has nothing to do with Israel. The only real danger that Israel shares with the US is Iran, which threatens Israel, American bases and allied Arab countries in the Persian gulf, and European countries. Even if Israel acts on its own against Iran's nuclear facilities, Iran is likely to use everything they've got against every possible target. This also includes activating Hezbollah terrorist cells in the US. Israel doesn't "have a lobby". American citizens have a lobby that cares about Israel. see the difference? --- edit --- Ever wondered why Muslims often call the west "crusaders"? Hint - It has to do with the crusades from the 11th to 13th centuries. THIS is how long the west the the Muslims (mostly - Arabs) have been fighting. Long before the state of Israel was created.

yes, and all the american contractors who entered Irak after USA conquered it, they also are fighting the Israel war ?. don't be innocent, USA will fight any war which is economically profitable for their corporations and their army industry.
