WASHINGTON (AFP) – Former US president Jimmy Carter said Sunday Palestinian leaders were "seriously considering" a one-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, following a visit to the Middle East. "A majority of the Palestinian leaders with whom we met are seriously considering acceptance of one state, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea," Carter wrote in an op-ed piece in The Washington Post. "By renouncing the dream of an independent Palestine, they would become fellow citizens with their Jewish neighbors and then demand equal rights within a democracy," he explained. "In this non-violent civil rights struggle, their examples would be Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela." Carter noted that in doing so, Palestinian leaders were taking into consideration current demographic trends. He said non-Jews were already a slight majority of total citizens in this area, "and within a few years Arabs will constitute a clear majority." Carter added that a two-state solution for the conflict was "clearly preferable" and had been embraced at the grass root level but that a one-state solution was "a more likely alternative to the present debacle." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ okay. They can be smart about it on both sides. It is likely to work. Except the Palestinians have to be patient and foward thinking. In time, they will be a huge majority.They will have a cohesive government. They can learn from Israel how to build bombs and capture dissidents and perhaps companion with big countries like Russia and learn how to fight foreign and other enemies. Maybe, but I doubt it. I think that only a two-state solution will work.

Then instead of about 20 years, the Jews will be a MINORITY, probably within 5 years-Then the Arabs can just vote the murderous Jewish terrorist group Likud(oops, Irgun before being elected) out of office without a war-good joke- the Jews would become even more Nazi like. NOT FEASIBLE. The Jewish population would again attack the Arabs, killing them and stealing their land. Israel can not remain democratic if the Arab population replaces them by faster growth rate. That is why Israel bulldozes palestinian homes and steal the land for Jewish only homes and refuse Palestinians the "RIGHT of return"-Israel, being the ONLY country on earth to do this-the Germans and Arabs have allowed Jews the "Right of return".
